Our golden rule

Dr. Cohen and his team give every patient the care, skill and judgment they would want for themselves. That is the golden rule here, and it means treating your family like family.

Born and raised in Montgomery County, now in Suite 560 on Wisconsin Avenue. Stop by for a tour, and meet the team first.

What sets us apart

We treat your family like family.

And we mean it. Three things the practice promises every patient, and what each one looks like when you are in the chair.

A porcelain shade guide and a dental mirror on a tray, used to match a restoration to natural teeth.
01

Quality care, from people who listen

Personalized treatment for each patient’s own goals and needs.

Experienced doctors who diagnose carefully, and a team that counsels you on the best ways to keep your teeth healthy. Dr. Cohen puts it simply: spend a lot of time getting to know each patient.

02

State-of-the-art, and gentler for it

Digital radiography, and intra-oral and digital photography.

Digital x-rays give clearer images with less radiation than traditional film. Implants are planned in three dimensions from a CT scan, and OraVerse can reverse lingering numbness in about half the time.

Common questions

What people ask before they book.

Do you take my insurance?

The office is fee-for-service, so payment is due when treatment is provided. If you have a PPO plan, we are happy to help submit your claims, and any reimbursement will usually be sent straight to the policyholder. Government-funded plans such as Medicaid are not accepted.

What happens at my first visit?

We review your dental and medical history and take x-rays. Dr. Cohen or Dr. Servais-Kram then goes over the x-rays with you, talks through a personalized treatment plan and answers your questions. A hygienist cleans and polishes your teeth. Bring your insurance card and your dental records, and allow 45 to 90 minutes.

How long does Zoom whitening take?

About an hour in the chair: three 15-minute applications of the light-activated gel, then a rinse. Teeth can become up to eight shades lighter. It works best on yellow staining from coffee, tea, red wine, cola, tobacco or age, and your shade is assessed first.

How does Invisalign work here?

The practice is a certified Invisalign provider. After a consultation, your aligners are made from a precise 3D plan of your teeth. You wear them 20 to 22 hours a day, taking them out only to eat, brush and floss, and come in about every six weeks.

Can I really have new teeth in one day?

With All-on-4, a full arch of teeth is held by four implants, and the teeth can usually be placed on the same day as the implants. It can even suit people who have been told they do not have enough bone for implants.

I hate being numb for hours afterwards.

Ask about OraVerse. After a routine procedure it reverses the local anesthetic, so you are talking, smiling and drinking normally in about half the usual time. It is not recommended for children under six or under 33 lbs.

What if I have a dental emergency?

Call the office as soon as possible. After hours, call and the on-call staff member will help you. If you cannot reach the office in an emergency, dial 911.
